   Hi,

Tab workspaces currently have one serious limitation: it can be split vertically OR horizontally. Once split one way, it is impossible to split it the other way.

Consequence is that it is impossible to have for example 2 windows wide by 2 windows high. This is something that can be easily done with regular windows (windows>tile). 

If someone wants to see 3 documents, it at once, each view becomes very narrow.

It seems to me that this would be a very useful improvement
