Bad/strange design in xtpControlComboBox

Playing around with the Ribbon for the first time, - and I think it is great :-)
 
However when using the xtpControlComboBox for e.g. font sizes it notifies the parent through the XTP_GN_PREVIEWCHANGE and as xtpControlGallery during previews (as expected).
But when selected I found that it was using ON_XTP_EXECUTE with the control type xtpControlComboBox instead as xtpControlGallery?
 
Not a big problem, but design wise a little strange.

Yes, guess you are right. Gallery was first designed to use with popups as most of Office galleries. Extending ComboBox to use galleries was more like feature that was added later.
