Hi

I'm evaluating the use of the .NET WinForms CommandBars control within a Visual Studio 2005 project on a Windows XP development platform.

The application we're to develop relies on a simple floating toolbar user interface that controls a Contact Centre agent's telephone handset.  The toolbar is the only control within the VB.NET project's main Form and is shown below.

The toolbar buttons must be a fixed size as shown above and so we've set the CommandBarsBase.ICommandBar.MinimimumItemSize property to achieve that before adding any CommandBarItems to the CommandBar.  However, we need to have a narrow button (shown in the above diagram with the two downward "<" characters) to enable the application's options popup menu to be displayed.

We like the way the customise button works and looks on a CommandBar and would be interested to know if there's any way we can trap a click of that button and substitute our own PopupMenu in place of the standard Customize menu.

Alternatively is there any way we can add a "narrow" button if the MinimimumItemSize property has been set.

We look forward to your comments.

Is anybody from CodeJock monitoring this forum?
An answer to my question would be useful.
