    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://forum.codejock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=5266">pmerwood</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 14382<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 25 May 2009 at 9:38pm<br /><br />Hi<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I'm evaluating the use of the .NET WinForms CommandBars control within a Visual Studio 2005 project on a Windows XP development platform.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>The application we're to develop relies on a simple floating toolbar&nbsp;user interface&nbsp;that controls a Contact Centre agent's telephone handset.&nbsp; The toolbar is the only control within the VB.NET project's main Form and is shown below.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><img src="http://forum.codejock.com/uploads/20090525_212725_IDA.bmp" border="0"></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>The toolbar buttons must be a fixed size as shown above and so we've set the CommandBarsBase.ICommandBar.MinimimumItemSize property to achieve that before adding any CommandBarItems to the CommandBar.&nbsp; However, we need to have a narrow button (shown in the above diagram with&nbsp;the two&nbsp;downward "&lt;" characters) to enable the application's options popup menu to be displayed.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>We like the way the customise button works and looks on a CommandBar and would be interested to know if there's any way we can trap a click&nbsp;of that button and substitute our own PopupMenu in place of the standard Customize menu.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Alternatively is there any way we can add a "narrow" button if the MinimimumItemSize property has been set.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>We look forward to your comments.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Peter,</DIV>]]>
