I'm looking for software that takes nice animated screen shots of controls for use in help documentation. I've noticed the new Toolbox webpages on this site are sporting animated GIFs, but I can only find software that records in AVI. Any suggestions?

Snagit to record AVI (I think you can get windows medi player to do this, but really low quality). You also can look at BB FlashBack (More Expensive) which does a nice job.
Movie Gear to edit AVI (remove frames, reduce colors, etc...) There might be better things out there, these some I have found easy to use and not too pricey. |

Excellent. I had already tried Snagit, but I didn't think to look for an AVI to GIF utility. Tunnel vision. Thanks for the information.
