I have a large application and have been trying to fit it into Docking Panes.

Now I think it may be better (easier, prettier, nicer) to use MDITabWorkspace instead, and most forms will just be MDIchild forms.  I can still use DockingPanes for small windows.

Have you tried this or considered this? Do you have any comments? Are there limitations or problems?

From my point of view - Docking Panes good if you use it sometimes in floating mode - specially for multidisplay system. MDI not allows such feature as restricted to be child of main windows which always fit on ONE display

That is a good point. But for my single display I am finding the MDIforms works well, and I also use the Docking panes to float for toolboxes.

One thing I like about both these systems is when you minimise the main form, all the child forms and toolboxes also disappear.
