I thought there might be a PaintManager.GroupRowBackcolor property, but no luck. You can use the BeforeDrawRow event like this though:

Private Sub wndReportControl_BeforeDrawRow(ByVal Row As XtremeReportControl.IReportRow, ByVal Item As XtremeReportControl.IReportRecordItem, ByVal Metrics As XtremeReportControl.IReportRecordItemMetrics)
   If Row.GroupRow Then
         Metrics.BackColor = vbRed
   End If
End Sub

Note that you must call wndreportcontrol.SetCustomDraw xtpCustomBeforeDrawRow for this to work.

Why doing it the easy way?

.ShadeGroupHeadings = True
.GroupShadeBackColor = RGB(255, 128, 128)

See attached sample. uploads/3156/ReportControl_Colored_Group_Rows.zip
