Has anyone gotten RegFreeCOM to work with the v13.0.0 version of the
components? When I set the Isolated to "true" for my references, I get
a bunch of errors like the following:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets : warning MSB3179: Problem isolating COM reference 'XtremeCommandBars': Registry key 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{04eb7de1-556a-4f6a-81c0-575b5c35b0c6}\Implemented Categories\{7DD95801-9882-11CF-9FA9-00AA006C42C4}' was not imported. C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets : warning MSB3179: Problem isolating COM reference 'XtremeCommandBars': Registry key 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{04eb7de1-556a-4f6a-81c0-575b5c35b0c6}\MiscStatus' was not imported. A quick Google on the warning message indicates that the warning
usually occurs when the components were not registered correctly but I
find this hard to believe because I can run on my development
machine just fine. |

use the tool i wrote provided in this thread. it's not that much work to create a manifest and it works with 13.0, too :)

Actually, I tried that tool prior to posting here. I was unable to get it work properly -- regardless of the file that I picked, it continuously reported that the file is not a valid file. I've tried the long named .ocx, the short named .ocx. It seems to be asking for the typelibs but I don't know where those are installed. I'm using the Manifest.helper.exe application in 20080702_043418_Manifest_helper.zip. Is that the correct file?

Jantje, I have the same issue with your tool using v12.0.2. It says "not valid file"
Much respect to you for creating this really helpful utility, can you give me any guidance as to why I get the error? We have sever apps using different versions of CJ controls, using the manifest for regfree running is a lifesaver. Hope you can help. matt |
