Run the ToolBoxDemo application. Drag the Combo Box item above the Pointer item (Don�t change the selected item, should be the Pointer). Notice how the Combo Box Item is not repainted.

Yep. I can replicate it (tkpro v8.70).

I think they are going to release a patch upgrade soon, maybe this is resolved.
