I'm using CXTPTabClientWnd for tabbed MDI windows.  I need to do background processing in the windows (which is fired from a timer in each of the views), but I don't want to waste time doing the background processing if the view isn't visible (i.e., if the tab is not selected).

Is there a way of determining from the view if it is actually visible?  (I've tried OnActivateView, which works provided I don't switch to another app -- I need something that will let me keep processing the visible views, even if they're not the foreground window.

Thanks.
