It would be nice if the CXT installer did not mandate that Visual Studio is installed, in case some people wanted to attempt the compilation of the library using non-MS tools. I know it would be a difficult, and not an option I myself would choose, but still -- it would be nice to know the option were there.

Now, out of curiosity, has anyone tried compiling CXT using the Intel or GCC compilers? Theoretically it should be possible.

My mistake: the installer *does* install without VS being installed (I am reinstalling all my software today), just when it came to the point of submitting the checkboxes it would not enable the "next" button without checking one of the VS-dependant options; fortunately clicking cancel did not remove the files it had already installed. Hurray for Codejock!

So has anyone been daring enough to compile the source with the Intel or GCC compilers?

Hello,
We always test toolkit for compatibility with Intel compiler.
Just open solution in IDE, convert to Intel project and rebuild it.

I am in awe. Wonderful to know you folks are so future-minded as to test the code on both VC and Intel compilers
