Has anyone extended their application to be able to run interactive scripts?

Im looking into possibly perl, or perhaps Windows Script (which almost looks abandoned by MS).  All I want is to launch a script engine and have a nice clean interface between me and the engine, where my app would provide a few custom calls and some variables to set or retrieve all via call backs or something.

Any opinions?

I'm using HyperHost from Dundas, which has a nice wrapper around the ActiveScript engine and an editor with IntelliSense. Unfortunately Dundas does not offer HyperHost anymore.

thanks for the info.  What did you think of the activescript engine?  DId your users like it?
