11.1? From 10.4 to 11.1?

They do 1 "major" release, 4 "minor" releases per year.

In 2007 it will be 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, in 2008 it will be 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4, etc...

You're right, 10.0 wasn't an official release, just a beta.

I hope 11.1 will have some nice features which will justify a subscription renewal. I'm still waiting for a bunch of features which a competitor has already implemented.

;) What I meant to say was that after release 9.81, they changed their naming convention to 2006 Q1, 2006 Q2, 2006 Q3, etc... essentially releasing a new version each quarter. So actually there was no 10.0 release, it just went from 9.81 to 2006.1 (or 10.1).

I've just renewed my subscription for a third year, and I have been quite satisfied with both the level of support and the rate/quality of new features/bug fixes. I've recommended this framework to many friends and colleagues.

I can't wait to find out what's coming in this next release... Getting the Xtreme Controls in the ActiveX package already is a huge thing for us.

That being said, I'd be interested in knowing what features are missing from Xtreme Suite that you are looking forward to? (...not because I'm thinking of switching to a competitor, but because this will give me an idea of what may be coming down the line!)

Cheers!

I'm using the ToolkitPro (MFC), not the ActiveX version. These are the features I'm looking for:

  • Office 2007 style MDI tabs (see Access 2007, http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4333 - http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4333 )
  • Office 2007 style docking panes (no idea who invented this pseudo Office 2007 style)
  • Silver and Black Office 2007 skin ( http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5888 - http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5888 )
  • Undo/Redo popup ( http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5069 - http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5069 )
  • Vista Task Dialog on all Windows platforms (or 2000+) ( http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5144 - http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5144 )
  • Individual opacity for docking panes + bug fix ( http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4766 - http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4766 )
  • Office 2007 style property sheet (See options dialog in Office, requested 8 month ago or so)
  • "Floaty" / Mini toolbar as in Office 2007 ( http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4793 - http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4793 )
  • Statusbar slider / zoom ( http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=6297 - http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=6297 )
  • SkinFramework support with MSLU/Unicows

I understand that Codejock has limited resources and can't only implement the features I request, but most features have been requested by others too and are already implemented by a competitor.

Personally I would think these are all things most MFC/COM customers would want, so it would make sense for CJ to implement them in the product. I would be very surprised if none of these things made it into the next release or two.

Regarding the Undor/Redo popup, I've been able to implement that using the current functionality (although not as part of a Ribbon, and without the bottom label). It looks about the same as in Word 2003. Not sure if that's what you're looking for though.
