Is there a function call to know a pane is floated or docked by passing its ID, similar to IsPaneClosed()? If not, what is the workaround? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the MFC version but the active-X version has a mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\Codejock%20Software\ActiveX\Xtreme%20Suite%20Pro%20ActiveX%20v9.70\help\SymbolReference.chm::/XtremeDockingPane~Pane~Floating.html - Floating  property on the pane object.  You can get this by doing a FindPane call on the dock pane controller passing in the pane ID.  If the property is true the pane is floating, if not it is docked.

You are right, CXTPDockingPane has IsFloating(), although CXTPDockingPaneManager does not have it.

And this is different from the Closed property. IsPanedClosed() exists in CXTPDockingPaneManager and IsClosed() exists in CXTPDockingPane class.

Thanks.
