Hi,

I think every user of XTP knows a problem. If we let XTP to save and restore state and then we add another control which does not exist before, then the new control will not appear. We have to reset toolbar or delete previously saved state info.

May I suggestion guys at XTP handle this issue in this way? If XTP found new control, instead of simply deleting it, putting it to a default position on the toolbar? maybe query the control for it's default position. For example, every control has a function, say GetDefaultState(), the same apples for docking panel .

Any comment is welcome

Jeff

If you use LoadCommandBars method message box must appear that toolbar was changed... What version do you have?

I use CXTPPropExchangeIniFile to save/restore the state. I know the message box. But it still not good that all state must be reset to be able to see the new control. We are developing a software with millions of users and we release new version every 2 weeks. If we reset user's config once in a while, we must be buried by complaints.

How about the way I suggested?

Jeff
