Build the ribbon sample.

Start the sample.

Maximize the app window.

Minimize the app by clicking the minimize box on the ribbon frame.

Restore the app by right-clicking the icon in the taskbar and choosing "resize".

Hit the "Windows+d" key. The app minimizes.

Right-click the ribbon sample icon in the task bar.

The app immediately maximizes without the user getting a chance to select any command on the menu!

I also see this behaviour with other apps in Vista 32-bit Home, so I don't think it is a CodeJock issue either. In fact, I don't even have to go through all of your steps, just hitting Windows+D and then  right-clicking the icon in the task bar exhibits the problem for all applications.

Possibly by design for Vista?

My Word 2007 doesn't do this. But once again both the MSDN for VS 2007 and Windows Explorer do show the issue. I don't think this is worth opening a case with MS support for this one. I am really working on the problem I reported here where the app frame window gets into the invalid state where the WS_MINIMIZE and WS_MAXIMIZE styles both are set and I thought these other problems might be related (except for the fact that I have already determined that Windows does not send our app the WM_SYSCOMMAND message for this case and the other one jsbro replied to AND the invalid style state does not occur with this or the other issue).

I have already contacted our MS support guy regarding the problem where windows+m fails to minimize the app because the OS doesn't send us the WM_SYSCOMMAND message.
