Hi,

I'm giving it another go, of converting my old application to use Code Jock, and the new version.

I'm having problems, getting it to work with Docking panes within MDI child forms.

If I try this, then non of the docking panes seem to be able to get focus correctly.

If you run the example project attached, and maximize the form & document in the MDI, you can click on the individual panes, but they dont seem to get focus correctly, or be able to type into the text boxes.

Any ideas anyone, or am I doing something stupid :)?

Thanks,

Hi,

Another problem with this example.

If you start the project, and undock and move pane D & E outside of the application (make sure they are still both 'grouped' though)

Then un group them, while they are floating.

Then move Pane D back to the main app, and dock it anywhere

As Pane D docks, Pane E disappears!!

Then I cant find it anywhere.

Any solution for that also?

Ta,

Rob.

Hello,

With MDI Child we recommend use control from Form or UserControls:

Hi,

Thanks for that, yes it seemed to have fixed the first problem.

I have very complicated forms that I want to put into Panes, so I guess I will need to convert these forms into UserControls and use them, as they are too complicated to create on the fly like your example.

However, it didnt fix the problem with Pane 'E' disappearing... is there anything I can do about that?

Ta,

Rob.

Ok, Cool. Thanks for the feedback.

Do you recommend using UserControls on all Panes then? Or just if you are in a MDI situation?

I have some with SDI but I haven't seen any problems with them yet, so was wondering if it was safer to convert them to UC also.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

With SDI you can use Forms or UserControls. Maybe advantage of UserControls that Tab key will work to navigate Panes.
