Hi,

here are some questions on beta 1 of Xtreme Suite v12.1:

- Is Outlook2007 docking pane style implemented ?
- it seems smooth fade out of Ribbon tooltips, Ribbon Menu and mini toolbars are not implemented !?
- Can you please provide vb6 sample how to handle multiple hyperlinks in a markup script with one vb function ?
- are there really no new features of syntaxedit ?
- can you please create startmenu entry for markup help ?

Thanks a lot

Please note that there is a new sample that was not added in the start menu located here:

C:\Program Files\Codejock Software\ActiveX\Xtreme SuitePro ActiveX v12.1.0\Samples\Common\VB\MarkupSample

This will show how to use the new Markup OCX.

As with all websites, click on the Contact link at the bottom and/or top of the main Codejock website.

I think the webmaster should just stop this expiry nonsense.

They can't give the Beta to customers with expired subscription. But the keyword is data integration here, the beta site should use the same data as the online store.

Have you guys added any new features since the Beta? Otherwise I don't know why it takes more than 2 months from a Beta to the Release.

Not to mention that the last release (12.0) was 6 months ago and it takes longer and longer between releases.

Hi,

Complaining like you do will speed up releases, that's true. I rather have ONE feature that works 100% then 20 features that work 90% Let them do their job and have a bugfree release. You are right about the Beta release, but in my opinion they released this version too quickly and there were so many things they had to fix and that's why it's taking too long for Beta 2 to release. But maybe CJ is preparing for a final release (tested thoroughly) I don't know, but it would be nice to know when to expect a next Beta release

Thanks

It seems to me that the releases are not well planed. I would expect a fixed feature set before the development starts. Releasing a beta and then not even an other beta within 2 months is horrible. I wouldn't even mind if a new version has only one new feature.

This is often an indicator that a software company is actually a part time endeavor for those involved.

Wonder the same, I signed up for the beta just resently according to instruction but never got any files to download and now when I am trying to login at the beta site it says "Your account has expired".

Itake that must mean no more beta testing and there will soon be a release

Would be nice to hear something official, even if it's just an estimate.

Read previous posts about beta accounts.

The only "official" word I've been getting lately is that my subscription is about to expire.

Can someone in CJ give us a timeframe for version 12.1 release ?

Know that we have to wait december, or april 2009 is better than waiting for nothing (we have to schedule releases, and XTP is part of process).

I want also to pinpoint that a beta (with many problems ad few features) and then 70 day of silence is unusefull, probably also to you.

on may, 5 "Volume 1 is a huge release for Codejock, and the first major release of 2008..." hope was not also the last of 2008, but even if it's true (better a 'real' release on beginning -1Q I mean- 2009 that a buggy&cosmetic one now), we have to know ASAP.

Thank you for your attention.

Davide

I disagree with you, your comments are just wrong and unfair.
The subscription renewal for 4 licenses was just $319 and we got markup, Office 2007 message bar, minbar, statusbar slider, VS2008 theme, Access 2007 style tabs, many new Ribbon controls, Word 2007 style docking panes and Office 2007 silver and black skins plus many fixes and enhancements.

The toolkit is absolutely fairly priced, compared with other toolkits I'd even say underpriced. It might even be better to charge a little bit more and hire additional developers. Heck, other companies charge several thousand dollars for a sh*tty single control.

The only problem are delayed released without notifying the customers.
And that you never know what you get with the next release.

I'm sure it'll be worth waiting for. However, I'm also one who really needs to know. If someone from CJ can please let us know if it's weeks or months then that's be great (we're all in IT so we know how things can overrun).

I agree with ABuenger, the price is very reasonable compared to the sum of support (higher and higher) and the upgrade (in last 15 months lower and lower in term of respect of terms that YOU CJ gives us).

That's why I was asking a timeframe, it's better to know that we have to wait 2009 that browsing the site twice a day for any news.

In my case I've believed in the promise of markup in reportcontrol and I'm here with unusable code for feature not implemented that I've bet on (bellieving in first beta dated august 29 and release in sept/oct)...

I'm not asking miracle, just the truth that is always better then vanish hopes.

When you think you can release a beta with updates or an RC or a release ?

Some years ago I've bought a wonderfull PDF library from ISED, they open their holidays and since then we have no information about them...

If it's an economic  problem I can pay my subscription for next couple of years (and many other I think can do the same), if you are still working into version 0.98 of C# lib, please open your eyes, we are all waiting for THIS code and we can support you if necessary.

The longer you keep silent the more people can think to any fantastic story, I remermber that someone in South Africa took the car and go to ISED HQ to investigate... I'm too far from you, be sure..  But please tell us something (yes also to people not interested in your parking area).
