Hi JvdH,

I had a similar problem on Vista with all listboxes (that is, even LBs in other programs). I *think* it was because I had no sounds selected in the control panel and the OS was defaulting to the very annoying (and loud!) motherboard/system beep.

I was able to workaround the issue as follows:

1) Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel
2) Select Classic View from the left pane
3) Double-click System
4) Click Device Manager in the left pane
5) If UAC bugs you, click Continue
6) Click the View menu, and then click "Show Hidden Devices".
7) Expand "Non Plug and Play Drivers" and double-click Beep
8) Click the Driver tab, and under Startup, select Disabled.
9) Click OK.

You may have to restart your system, but the beep will be gone (assuming the beep you are getting is the System beep).

Its not the system beep its more like a pling... a windows pling from out of the speakers.

I turned on sounds again in Vista to test this...As far as I can tell the CJ ListView is mistakenly playing the Default Beep sound (usually a crystally pinging sound) instead of the Select sound (usually no sound is chosen for this). You can work around this as follows:

1) Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel
2) Double-click Sound
3) Click the Sounds tab
4) Under Program, select "Default Beep"
5) Under Sounds, select "(None)" and then click OK. The CJ ListView will no longer make a sound when items are selected.

This is a bug, and hopefully it will be fixed for the next release!

Hi,

Looks like it another weird bug of Vista.  If you run Application without Manifest in IDE I indeed hear "Default Beep", if outside, with enabled Manifest, it works ok.

https://forum.codejock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=4166&FID=113 - JvdH , Add manifest for your application and it will work.
