m_pRecord->GetItemMetrics(pDrawArgs, pItemMetrics);
pDrawArgs->pItem->GetItemMetrics(pDrawArgs, pItemMetrics);
m_pControl->GetItemMetrics(pDrawArgs, pItemMetrics);
pDrawArgs->nTextAlign = pItemMetrics->nColumnAlignment;
So, if you assign nTextAlign inside GetItemMetrics you're doing void...
