Header color reported is too light

CXTPTaskPanelPaintManager* pPaintManager = m_wndTaskPanel.GetPaintManager();
XTP_TASKPANEL_GROUPCOLORS* pGroupColors = pPaintManager->GetGroupColors(TRUE);
COLORREF headerBlue = pGroupColors->clrHead.clrDark;

Trying to get the color from the "special" group header so I can set other controls in my dialog to the same color.  I tried the COLORREF cast operator also, same of course.  On my dev machine it looks a little too dark, on another machine it's way too light, almost white!
