InvalidVariant Exception with 12.1

   Using reportcontrol in a .Net 2 application when a try to add a column 

Column = wndReportControl.Columns.Add(ID.COLUMN_IMPORTANCE, "Importance", 18, False)

the application throw an InvalidVariant Exception.
Is a bug? the problem raise also in every application I have tryed (and in the reportcontrol sample for vb.net after the project conversion).
