As far as I know, there is no XLS export but it is pretty easy to loop through all the columns and rows and output them to a text file. If you format the output with tabs between the fields, then it will open up correctly in Excel without any modification.

Exactly so. Additionally you can get a text already prepared for pasting to Excel by simple copying it into a clipboard right from the control itself.
