Report Control - stop Row selection shading

I am trying to find a way to get the report control to NOT select the entire row.  I'd like it to behave more like a grid, where only the selected item in a row has any sort of shading/focus rectangle.  (except possible the items to the left of the frozen column - but I'll take what I can get for now)

	Maybe use the ReportPaintManager to set the colors of selected row the same as other rows. Then use the DrawItem event to paint your own selection?
