Hello, I'm wondering about the future of the statusbar delivered with suite... I think it's really nicely integrated component, except that is useless for anything else than showing plain text. If you would add support for images/icons and some style on text (like font, color etc) would definitely replace the statusbars people are using. Thanks, Joe |

I raised the same issue in August. ie An excellent idea and great that its integrated, but crap implementation. https://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1096& PN=3 At the time I was advised to use a different statusbar and that is what I have done. Since then no one has offered any further comments. I hope that your question gets an answer and that this control is developed further as it would make a great addition (with very little work) to the suite. |

I don't know how much work it would be for them, but I think the MFC version has all the functionality. But I'm afraid we don't get an answer... I read a review of CJ on componentsource.com which I think is quite true: I guess the developers focus on MFC implementation and the Active X component is a lucrative addition with lots of VB developers out there. |

I wouldnt agree with that assesment. They market their product to as many different platfoms as they can - thats only good business sence. I find it hard to believe that they would go out of their way to cripple a measly status bar just to p1ss off activeX users and leave all the other major controls untampered with. Besides if ActiveX is a "lucrative market" then it would be in their interest to make the product as apealing as possible wouldnt it? My assesment on CJ is that they are technically excellent, functionally poor. Technically excellent because their controls are beautiful, they make my app look fantastic and very professional and as yet have never crashed on me and for the most part they do their job extremely well. Functionally Poor because they spent all their time and effort on the big picture and forgot the detail. A few random examples include: cant change the background colour of the tab control, cant get the position or size of a docked window, cant align colum headers in the report control, dont know when items have changed position in the toolbox, undocumented features on the commandbars and up until release 9 the documentation wasnt worth the paper it was printed on. Despite its faults, I would still rate their Suite the best 3rd party control in my library.
