Hello all,

Customers with a current maintenance subscription can download the latest beta to 13.1.

http://beta.codejock.com/

Note that you will use your existing 13.0 password to install this beta.

Send and email to mms@codejock.com if you are a current maintenance holder but the beta site shows you expired.

We plan to release by the end of the week.

No such file exists.
(after updating profile and clicking download)
 
P.S. do you think can be usefull for you if we test this beta ? last year you told that buildng a release tooks 2..3 days, if you plan to release by the end of the week you have 3/4 days left.. Can you please give us a timeframe for submitting problems ( if any) ?

Thanks for the beta.
  • I'm surprised that the new white theme () can not be used by push buttons controls  ?
  • The tab control with the same white theme is themed but there's no right and left borders...?

For the first point, you can try this :

  • Apply the white theme and when then mouse is over the pushbutton (with Office White Theme), the "over" effect is the same as the black theme (the effect is different of the white toolbar button).

I'm using it to display information messages, they're now like error messages :)
No way to change it ?

Just like everytime I create a beta account there are no beta download links... "Includes 0 Files"
 
My previous beta account (znakeeye) is deactivated. Can you please activate it and add the beta files?

I've not seen in samples the static dialog report that mdoubson put in a thread of report forum, thare are few interesting things that I've not found (like search with items highlight)

Bugs/RFI in Report control:
 
1) Selection is buggy. In Explorer shift-clicking always results in a 1-range selection.

Ctrl+click R4, Ctrl+click R2, Shift+click R1. Result should be R1-R2 selected, but in ReportSample R1-R2, R4 are selected! This is wrong! However, if BOTH Ctrl and Shift are held down, this behavior would be correct. (Please try this in Vista!)
 
2) When only the horizontal scrollbar is visible scrolling using the mouse should scroll sideways (like Explorer)!
3) When both scrollbars are visible, I prefer scrolling sideways using Ctrl+mousescroll (many editors do it like this).

But :
 
  1. The font color is white (black in CJ MessageBar, don't know how to change this in CJ, maybe with markup ?)
  2. I still want to change this color
  3. Not sure the red gradient (for background and button) is the same (CJ vs MS)

New question : the ribbon system button is now a rectangle in Office 2010. Did you plan to change the current circle system button ?

On Windows 7, the White Theme for the ribbon is not perfect.
 
 
The effect is beautiful but the black text for tabs with the transparent backgroup make it not easy to read (especially if the desktop wallpaper is dark).

Particularly, I'm interested in knowing if grouping in virtual mode has been implemented, as discussed in this thread.

  1. When you apply the "office theme" to others forms (with "EnableOffice2007FrameHandle") there's no "client top border" (see picture below)
  2. The White theme is not implemented for Task Panel

No reaction to my previous messages ?
New issue for "Recent files" (command bars). In the online help :
 
"6. When adding items to the MRU you must specify the complete path to the file, however, only the filename will get displayed.  A tooltip will display the full path to the file.  You can get the full path from the Parameter property when in the Execute event."
 
That's false. The parameter property of the control is empty (see Ribbon Sample). I use the tooltip but the "parameter" property seems more logical...
Maybe my code is wrong ?

Yes indeed, but that will take a while before all issues are solved. But I don't care, rather have a decent version without bugs than a version full of surprises

In fact, I use the beta for a few days and there are not too many problems.
It seems fairly stable to the point that some of my users use a version of my product based on it :)
 
I would say if I discover other things.

Same problem in XTP 13 and XTP 13.1b:
 
ReportSample -> Task List Sample. Click on a combo box button, then on its edit area. Try this a couple of times and you will notice that the combo-button flickers.
 
Sometimes it's even worse (not sure what's causing this); the dropdown is not closed when clicking the edit field! It might have something to do with record items with their own constraints.

Big problem !
 
When i use my application with the non unicode version of the beta everything is ok.
When i use Com Registrator to register the unicode version of the beta, every time i close my app VB6 crash.
No problem with the unicode version of the 13.0...
 
PS1 : Everything is ok with the samples. And... impossible to send you my project, sorry !
PS2 : If i set a break point on form_unload sub, it works...!
PS3 : Ribbon bar and office borders enabled
PS4 : No problem if i comment the line : "RibbonBar.EnableFrameTheme" ! Seems to be related to the office frame...

A couple of months ago someone from CJ (I've not found the thread) wrote that a beta was not possible, even more information on new features available in versione 13.1 (since 13.0 was dedicated to bug fix)...
 
some questions
 
1) where are this 'so secrete' features?
2) It was really needed a beta version for a fix update of a 'fix release' ?
3) Can CJ let us know a plan of upgrades ? Can we expect a major release before the end of the year ?
 
This (in my opinion) is not the kind of release we were waiting for...

OK, beta is over, you can get the retail version now.
 
As far as new features, August\Sept you will get a nice new control.

It's strange, the unicode version works well (except for this problem)...
 
In any case I have the same problem with the final version this morning.
 
I found a "solution" but it's not ideal :

- I work with the non unicode version
- Before building the exe I close the project and I register the unicode controls
- I reopened the project and i build the exe...
 
No others ideas ?

Maybe you have some Unicode components/some non Unicode mixed ? Do you use skinframework in same application ? Please better send all info to support@codejock.com, it will be easy to solve it.
