Just compile and run! A messagebox will pinpoint the problem...

Why it should??? You draw control with enabled = false and how control have to figure out that it have act like disabled ?

Disable Whole Gallery with pCmdUI->Enable(FALSE) -
 
void CMainFrame::OnEnableButton(CCmdUI* pCmdUI)
{
 pCmdUI->Enable(FALSE);
}
and Inline gallery will be diabled with all buttons.

That's exactly my question; why is it not possible to disable individual gallery items? Did MS specify this limitation? Did I miss anything?

This feature makes sense when you have some 10 gallery items, and do not want to remove inactive ones - which would effectively change the order, confusing the user.

This works like a charm in 13.1. One question though; is it possible to have update-handlers for gallery items?
