I want to create a pane that contains a view with its own document and frame classes. In other words, I want to put an MDI doc template in a pane, not the mainframe.
I cannot find any samples showing how to do this. I already know how to create panes from dialog templates and CView derives classes that do not have a document. This is different.
I know that I create a naked CXTPDockingPane with icon and title inside the parent frame's OnCreate (this is the parent frame that will contain the pane). The question is what code to implement for the XTP_DPN_SHOWWINDOW notification to actually create the doc/view object. From the samples, I suspect this uses CCreateContext. I have tried many variations using RUNTIME_CLASS and nothing seems to work.
Is there sample code somewhere for this?

Belay that request. I was making a stupid mistake not exactly following the pane sample.
