Disable the items of CListCtrl

   Hi, 
Please anybody can tell me how to disable the item of List control. 
CListCtrl::SetItemState  method able to disable the item, but I didn't get the proper arguments to pass in SetItemState() method to achieve the required functionality. 
Could you please send me some link of materials which contain the samples who satisfy the requirements.
Or if you have any other option to disable the item please let me know.
