Hello All,
I have just downloaded an eval of the Report Control (COM version), which looks exactly what I need for my present project. My problem is that I have no idea how to get started. If someone could just point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. I've tried reading the Help file, but I'm overwhelmed by the vast number of properties, events and methods. I've no way of knowing which of them are important and which I can leave to one side. I've also found some samples in with the downloads, but they are all in VB, which I don't have (and don't want to learn). Can anyone just give me an idea about how to get started - for example, just adding a few rows and columns to the control. I'm comfortable with using ActiveX controls in general. I just need to know which PEMs to focus on. Thanks in advance. Mike |

My language is Visual FoxPro. However, I wasn't asking for language-specific help - just some pointers to which PEMs I needed to look at to get started.
However, in the two weeks since I posted my request, I've managed to figure out some of what I needed to know, mainly by trial and error. There are many things I still don't know, but I'll post specific questions on those, as and when I need to. Based on what I've seen so far, I think this is an excellent product. It's highly functional, and seems to work smoothly. I'm inclined to go ahead and purchase it, and also to recommend to my main client to purchase licenses for their own developers. But I am very much discouraged by the lack of support. I posted my original question a full two weeks ago. During that time, the message was flagged as "waiting approval", which presumably means no-one else has seen it. Now, half the evaluation period has slipped away. If it takes that long just to get a simple question approved, I'm worried about how long it's going to take to get answers. I'll see how things progress in that area before making a decision on whether to go ahead with this product. Mike |

Just to add to my previous post ... I see that my reply is itself flagged as "pending approval".
Good grief. If it's going to take two weeks to get every message in a thread approved, I'm clearly not going to get anywhere with this product. Mike |

Hi Mike, the forum is mainly a community forum, to get help from our developers you must write to to support@codejock.com. As for thread approval, once you have a certain number of posts then you will not need to be approved. |
