    Posted: 08 May 2008 at 11:03am

Hi, I have just upgraded to Xtreme ToolkitPro version 12 and, on building my application, found that 'CXTPSyntaxEditBufferManager' was not a recognised type. The error message was as follows:

error C2027: use of undefined type 'CXTPSyntaxEditBufferManager'

My Visual Studio (2005) paths etc are set up correctly and wondered if anyone has experienced this issue?

I am using the class above in the following manner, which worked in version 11 of the toolkit -

CFile fileText(cstrPathName, CFile::modeRead);

CArchive arText(&fileText, CArchive::load);

this->GetEditBuffer()->Serialize(arText);

I am attempting above to open an XML file in the editor, during the OnInitialUpdate event of my view class (derived from CXTPSyntaxEditView). I could of course add the relevant header manually but I supect this may be a manifestation of a bug in the toolkit or its configuration ...

Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Sorry, some headers was removed.
Please add

#define _XTP_INCLUDE_SYNTAXEDIT_LEXER
in stdafx.h before you include toolkit.

Hello Oleg,

thanks for the prompt reply -  I added the #define to stdafx.h as you suggested and my application now builds without error.

Keep up the good work with the Toolkit.
