I'm using VB6. I have a StatusBar created using CodeJock CommandBars.

I put a CodeJock FlatEdit control in one of the StatusBar panels, by assigning the FlatEdit's hWnd to the panel's Handle. On running the program, the FlatEdit control will appear correctly in the StatusBar Panel.

BUT... if I click on the FlatEdit control (to actually type something in!)... it disappears from the StatusBar and re-appears wherever I happened to place it at design time.

The VB6 intrinsic Textbox control doesn't have this problem.

Is this a bug, or is there something I can do with a FlatEdit to make it work?

Hello,

Please put it to PictureBox and attach PictureBox to Statusbar.

Solution from CJ support:

"all MFC created ActiveX controls have the same problem.  You will need to put it inside any other VB6 controls.  Picturebox is fine and attach this picturebox"

So, I put my FlatEdit inside a VB6 PictureBox, and attached the PictureBox to the StatusBar panel instead of the FlatEdit. Now it works, although it needs extra code in the PictureBox.Resize event, to make the FlatEdit match whatever size the PictureBox becomes.

Edit: Wow, I got ninja'd by Oleg while I was typing the above :-D
