Does anybody have any suggestions for how to build CXTPControlEdit-derived class that adds a small button to the right edge of the edit box (either within the edit window, where the spin button could be, or just past the edit window.)

We want to put a Search window in the ribbon, and rather than requiring the user to click in the Edit control and press Enter, we'd like to place a small button beside the control to execute it.

Part of my confusion on this stems from my lack of understanding on how controls work. They appear to merely govern a collection of rectangles, and I can't find where those rectangles are interpreted and drawn. (but I could be wrong about this).
