Hi all,
Anybody noticed that loading a skin under Vista simply kicks the CPU to 100% and the whole application is just unusable ?
The very same build under XP works fine.
Any idea ?
Thanks to all

Hi Oleg,
Difficult to say. Your samples seem fine, but they do a lot less than our app.
What is very clear is that our app is eating at least twice more CPU during Idle time when the Skin is loaded than when it is not.
This also depends if other apps are running in the system at the same time. Typically some apps (can't tell the name here) cause our Skinned app to suddenly hit the 100% CPU. All OK if not skinned.
What is strange also is that when we open a menu the CPU jumps for another 10% more, then stays there even if we close the menu.
All this under Vista. We'll do more tests under XP, but takes some time to build the installer (we have more than 10 exe and 200 dlls for this app).
Any idea welcome
Thanks
Dominique

Hi Oleg,
After building a proper installer and tried on various system, we can definitely confirm that there is a performance issue under Vista when skinning the application.
All fine under XP.
Any idea welcome.
Sorry and thanks in advance
Dominique
