CXTPTabClientWnd hide WorkSpace Tabs in group mode

   I am using CXTPTabClientWnd in my MDI in group mode. I would like to be able to hide the Workspace tab bar programmatically when there is only one MDI child window tab. When more tabs are generated by the user I would then like to show the Workspace tab bar - behaviour similar to Firefox.  Obviously  this would  only be possible when there is only 1 workspace group.

Is this possible?  or any idea /hints  for what code to modify to allow this?
