It is our understanding that the ActiveX report control will include printing capability when version 10 is released (maybe on October 1). We are trying to get a new release of our product out fairly soon. Can anyone with CJ summarize how printing in the ActiveX report control will work. Simply WYSWYG? How much control over formatting will be provided? Since our release time frame appears to be similar to the CJ version 10, can we participate in the beta? This migh help us in getting up to speed with the new report control. Thanks! |

OK. (1) Stupid question. (2) Don't know the answer. (3) Don't understand the question. (4) I'm busy. (5) Don't care. (6) ... Even this little one-person company somehow finds a way to answer most, if not all, inquiries every day. And when we don't, we wake up the next morning totally focused/paranoid about making up for the oversight. I've got to say I'm a little surprised...who's managing people's time over there? I tried printing out the table from the sample application and it
printed fine except none of the icons, neither in the column header or
in any of the record rows printed. Also, the check boxes didn't
print either. Is there any way to get these non-text components
to print?

Make sure you have the correct/latest drivers installed. I used to have the same problem in IE at the office until I reinstalled the latest drivers.

Thanks to CodeJock for implementing a print feature. Saved me some time and I didn't have to do it on my end! I do have some issues about the new feature to report though: 1. I'm pretty sure our printer's drivers are up to date, but I just tried a test print of a report with small images in cells. No images were printed. 2. The report prints with a border around the edge. If my report has cells that extend beyond the edge of this border, these cells print beyond the border of the report. Seems that if a column begins inside the border, the column gets printed, even if it extend beyond the border. Has anyone else seen this?

It would also be nice to be able to specify page header/footer text or
a report title. I have a lot of tables that can be printed with
various filters and knowing what data has been printed by looking at
the printout would be nice.
