Hi all,

I need your insight on the following problem. In the application I want to write, I have an item browser (2d images, 3d images, etc.) on the right and multiple item viewers (2d viewer, 3d viewer) in the MDI client area. The item browser is implemented in a tree control since items are hierarchically organized.

I want the user to be able to select an item in the list, drag it and drop it in a viewer for display. The item should not be deleted from the browser, just associated to the viewer. What is the best way to implement this? I know how to make the viewers as drop targets, but is there an easy way with XTP tree control to enable drag and drop? If so, what type of data is dropped? Can I associate objects with each item in my tree control so that these objects get dropped instead of the item's caption text?

Thanks,
