I have started looking at the Report Control, and I like it.
But for the rest of my large application I use my own Print Preview form (customised Active reports viewer). Is it possible to use this to display the output from Report Control? For example, could I get the report pages as bitmaps to paste onto blank pages in my viewer? |

What's for? ReportControl can give you multi-page preview with WYSIWYG - if column too wide - it will go to next page. Feature of 13.1 version

I would like to use my own Report Preview so that it matches the rest of my application. My own Preview has my own toolbar, and this has a slider for variable Zoom level (from 10% to 500%). It has a Go To Page... box, an optional Table of Contents. And when the mouse cursor is over the report it changes to a hand icon and lets you drag the report in any direction (like Adobe PDF Reader). I also have buttons for Print Preview, Print to Dot-Matrix printer, and Export in various formats. Also coming soon -- Email report.
This is mainly done using the ActiveReports Viewer (though some things like dot-matrix print I must do myself). It would just be nice to keep consistent look and operation across the application. I guess I can do it myself by reading the CJReportControl line by line and sending to ActiveReports. |
