If my memory serves me right  cjzer, then the double click cannot be disabled. You see, the system button is merely an enlarged version of the smaller icon that is normally in that area.  Therefore, it obtains the similar functionality as by double clicking will close the form.

in the Form_QueryUnload try:

    If UnloadMode = vbUser Then
        Cancel = 1
    End If

That will stop the form from unloading by a user action, not sure if that will help or not.
