Hi,

I have a very odd issue with a ribbon on a form. When enableframetheme is set, and the grid control (a Formula One OLE Grid control) gets focus, the ribbon stops functioning. The execute event stops firing even though the tabs will still change and the 'globe' button shows its menu. I have looked through the forums and changed the setting of the forms caption to using the SetWindowText API. I have also removed the skinning and also changed the sequence of events (i.e no skinning, skinning before and after the ribbon creation etc) all manifest in the same behaviour. The only thing that seems to work happily is not setting enableframetheme.

This is the first time I have encountered this, and have other forms from the same app with skins/ribbon/enableframetheme set.

This is a VB6 app running on XP SP3.

Any advice gratefully accepted!!!

May be, the gridcontrol subclasses the mainwindow.
Has this gridcontrol own menues ?
Try to put the gridcontrol in a separate form and attach this form to a dockingpane in the mainwindow, so the gridcontrol doesn't know anything about the mainform.

Hi,

We managed to get to the bottom of the issue. If the forms NavigateMenus property was set to false, eveything works as intended. Thanks for your help, I hope I didn't take up too much of your time.

Thanks!
