If you need last size - You can try ToggleDocking method instead.

When you drag a pane to float mode, this call is executed:

m_pManager->FloatPane(m_pPane, m_rectDragFrame);

So, how do I do this programmatically?

m_paneManager.FloatPane(pPane, ???);
 
It should be possible to omit this parameter and let the toolkit size it!
