Hi
I would like my MDI windows to be docking panes - please see below for more information. I have looked at the GUI_VisualStudio example and I see that docking panes are supported in an MDI environment. With reference to the GUI_VisualStudio example my desired behaviour would be 1. User selects "File->New->File" 2. This results in an untitled document window. 3. The user can drag this window outside of the main window (in much the same way that the solution explorer windows can be dragged). Any help as to how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Mark |

Hi;
You have to create the frame window by yourself and must not derive it from CMDIChildWnd. In latter case it can't be moved outside the MDI parent area. Also you do not need to create your main frame derived from CMDIFrameWnd (unless you use MDI), just use a plain CFrameWnd.
