I have an application that was built using Toolkit Pro 2006. I'm now considering upgrading to the the v15.0 Xtreme Toolkit library.

I need to determine whether the application would compile/link against the newer library as it stands, or would it require modification in the application code? And if it would require modification, I need to determine how much effort it would take to move up before I can present a convincing argument for the upgrade to the sponsors.

I've downloaded the Visual C++ / MFC Toolkit Pro Evaluation 15.0, thinking to build the application against that, but the evaluation setup doesn't contain any libs or DLLs.

In the eval installer you must specify which version of VS to download to get the dlls.

Here is a few documents about upgrading.

Thank you. I was installing from behind a corporate firewall so the installer failed to download the DLLs. I had assumed that the installer wanted to download optional files.

Good information in the pages you've linked to.
