Hi,

Perhaps easy questions about mini toolbars, but I do not get it to work:

1) How can I make a split button popup in a mini toolbar to popup underneath the button and not to the right of it? (Take a look at mini toolbar in the Ribbon Sample and the Styles button (ID_STYLES_CHANGE). In my case I have a color picker and I want the color popup to be displayed underneath the button, not next to it).

2) How do I enable tooltips in my mini toolbar?

Thanks,

Fredrik

Hi,

1. Sorry, there is no style to change it. For such Floating bars split button show it always to right.

2. there is note in Microsoft's Ribbon guidelines to not show tooltip for minibar - so we disable it.
To have it back you can create class derived from CXTPMiniToolBar, override its OnToolHitTest and call CXTPPopupToolBar::OnToolHitTest instead of CXTPMiniToolBar's. (see sources)

Thanks for your answer, Oleg.

Regarding #1 I would like to add that as a wish. If you have a single row mini toolbar and the button with popup as the first button, the popup will cover the rest of the mini toolbar when you click on the arrow. But then you cannot easily dismiss the popup.

Is there a way to get tooltips on the Minitoolbar for the ActiveX CommandBars, and if not, could it be added? It's something that I have hoped for for a while.

I like to bump this thread again.

1) Regarding the position of the popup window, are there any plans to fix this? I think it should be considered as a bug since Microsoft's popup windows do not cover the mini-toolbar controls.
2) Regarding tooltips on mini toolbars, I noticed that the minitoolbars in  Office 2010 have tooltips....

By the way,

3) When the mini toolbar appears, I noticed that the shadow is drawn first, then the toolbar and then the shadow again, but now using the opacity value it should have had in the first place. This cause the mini-toolbar to 'flash'/'blink' - any plans to fix this?
