Hello all,

Customers with a current maintenance subscription can download the latest beta to 14.0.

Please note the TrackControl (part of report control)

http://beta.codejock.com/

Note that you will use your existing 13.2.1 password to install this beta.

Send an email to support@codejock.com if you are a current maintenance holder but the beta site shows you expired.

Thanks

downloaded fine for me (GMT + 13).

hard to tell what's changed, since VSS diff shows every file changed (because of copyright stamp).

I did find a problem in the WordPad sample though, changing theme caused a crash on Windows 7 Unicode Release build. I think it's just the sample code at fault though (haven't debugged).

Actually I have a use-case for the gantt chart already, so I'm happy about that! It's pretty cool!

As I read you, the term "Major release" seems to be inappropriate...
Still waiting to be "reactivated" (waiting for the morning in US :-))

Can you please provide us with some release notes so we know how much time to spend on beta-testing. Obviously, we're only going to test those parts that are relevant for our software.

CXTPTrackControl can be usefull, it is possible to support

- Time ( HH:MM) as timeline
- XAML Tooltip for each CXTPTrackBlock ( virtual CString GetTooltip() const returning XAML)

Is print support available (or it is scheduled) since the sample cannot print ?

There seems to be general confusion surrounding this v14 beta release.

I think it would help if CodeJock could please clarify what features they intend to release for v14 RTM and which of those features are present in this beta release. Also, is a 13.2.2 release still planned at this point?

The Grid control ? You mean Report Control ?

About the major releases, I've looked at the release notes :
  • V14 : 12 "New feature" items, 31 "Fixing"
  • V13 : 27 "New feature" items, 33 "Fixing"
  • V12 : 112 "New feature" items,  62 "Fixing"
It's just a little disappointing but not disastrous (CJ's components still the best for me and i've tried a lot of them !)

I think I expected too much the new chart control. Now, to respect my planning, I will have to seek and find another component.
That's why I'm so sad, so... do not mind my comment, CJ is doing a great job

No. It was planned to merge the ReportControl and PropertyGrid into a new Grid control with spreadsheet functionality.
And that was planned for 13.1. AFAIK.

Hi,

Great, but we need a version (13.2.2) without a time bomb in it.

We can't afford to install beta versions at a customer site. We need a version which work without restriction. There were some calendar problems in 13, which are solved in beta versions, but up to now, there is no final release with this fixes.

I hope you can make a final 13.2.2 release so we can deliver our application to customers. Afterwards we can evaluate version 14 with the new trackcontrol which seems to be great.

Best regards,
Chris Andries

As I know there's no time bomb on CJ's beta.
It works like a final version (With additional risks of course because of beta cycle).

Hello,
I'm a bit disappointed by this beta. A new major version number suggests bigger advancements, but I see only minor improvements, with new featueres only in the report and calendar control. I think you could do more to match the Office 2010 look. I mean backstage view, print preview with ribbon instead of toolbar etc., and the customize dialog still looks like Office 2003, not even 2007. I like your code quality, but getting an up-to-date look is probably the main reason to use a library like yours

Do not worry, once office 2010 is closer to release (slated for June) we will have 2010 features.  If you remember when 2007 was beta MS changed the look a few times before it went to retail

Seriously, can you PLEASE STOP bloating this thread with stupid requests for your beta accounts!!!
Or start a thread where the actual beta is being discussed!

Every time I see a new post I go like "Ooooh..." and then like "Naaaaaw!". It's the same when your girlfriend gets a headache just before the romantic explosion.

And as for beta accounts... CJ, you ought to get this fixed. Why not make it accessible via the customer downloads?

Thank SuperMario, now I see the file on ActiveX.
Unfortunately, my ADSL connection is too slow so the download after 2/3 MB "send to sleep"!!!

Download manager like FlashGet help my in this cases.

1) So version 13.2.2 is skipped ? next released version will be 14.0 ?
2) Yesterday MS releases VS2010 RC, maybe release is not march, 22 but only few weeks later: VS2010 is mandatoryand cannot be delayed to may-june when Office will be released, do you plan VS2010 integration in version 14.0 ?

If soon is by end of month (and with VS2010 supported) I agree, in other cases I'd like to have a stable 13.2.2 in a week and 14.0 next month.

I also thought, that there comes a release 13.2.2 final, because in 13.2.1 are som known bugs, like the print problem with the CalenderControl in FullWeek- or MonthView. Our users sends a lot of protests of this bug. But we down't want to deliver beta releases to our customers (with limited runtime)

1. Yes, we decided to release just 14.0, which included 13.2.2 fixes.
2. MS announced March 22, they usually stick to their dates.

We will do some normal testing with the RC before 14, but that shouldn't delay it past next week.  Once VS2010 goes retail and the last RC is tested we would release another version if anything major is found.  So don't worry about VS2010 retail compatibility, our software will work with it.

I was aking about VS2010 integration that is not part of version 14.0. Do we have to wait 2 months for VS2010 integrated support ? Is this what you mean ?

In my case since version 13.2.2 was not available I've released on february, 1st the release with 13.2 (as many people spotted we cannot use 13.2.1 due to calendar printing problems), from that date we have converted all projects to VS2010 and moved from Vista to W7 / W2008R2 as develoment OS.

MS set RC license as 'go live'

Ok, I'll strongly suggest we update the integration wizard before 14 goes out....but maybe it will be a few weeks after 14.

OK, its official, we will add VS2010 RC integration, evals, etc.... Same as any other VS version to 14.0.

Look for a new beta Monday with this feature.  Zaksoft, I hope you will help us test it?

If all goes well look for 14.0 retail end of next week.

Why is 13.2.2 skipped ?
I followed the discussion in many threads about the bugs in 13.2.1 and don't load and install this version.
Also i don't want to delivery beta's to my customers and i still waiting for final 13.2.2 in customer download area.
But nothing happens!

Now i read this thread that 14.0.0 will come soon.
When this version have so many bugs like 13.2.1 i must also wait for 14.1.0 or 14.2.n, thats possible be no final version ?

I'm now working with 12.0.2 without any problems and are waiting for final 13.2.2.
If the same happens with 14.0.0 my subscription expires before a stable release 14.n.n will be available ?

Sorry about my heavy tone, but i'm not amused.

In date 02/18/2010 I have download ActiveX Beta 14.0.0, but it doesn't seem to be a BETA:
- the "Beta" word doesn't appera when setup is launched
- require serial same of v.13.2.1.
- now, when I open a VB6 project which use v.13.2.1 is request me to update components to v.14.0.0.

My questions are:
1. Is it or not is it the v.14.0.0 a beta release?
2. If NOT, then can disable request update message? If yes, how to?

Thank.

Have anyone downloaded the Activex.14.0.0 beta from beta.codejock.com ?
I have problems that i can't solve.
My tries with IE6/IE8/Opera/Firefox all failed with no response from the server.

Exists any properties in the browsers that i must deactivate ?
