My help file crashes constantly when trying to read properties of the CommonDialog control. Is there any place else that I can get this information or is there a version of the help file that doesn't crash?

What version yo you have? I just tried the help from Xtreme Suite 13.0.0 on Windows XP SP2 and it seems to work just fine.  Can you provide me with all those details?

Thanks

I get the same problem with 12.1.1 and 13.0.0.

It happens every time when trying to view the "filter" property of the "CommonDialog" control.

I still can't reproduce it.  How do you access the property?  Give me exact steps, 1. Open help, 2. Click.....

Also what OS and SP do you have?

It seem that no matter how I access it I get a crash.  If I try to print the topic - crash, if I click on the topic - crash.

Since you cannot reproduce it, I am suspecting an anomoly on my computer.  I'll try to run the help file on another computer.

Do you have the suite or just the controls?  I have been using the suite version.

No crash at all when I run it on a 2000 server.
At least I can read that topic now.

CJ,

While we're discussing the help file, can I please ask if it can be split by product.

Try and search in the current help file and make sense of the results. The 'Location' for each item in the results is always 'Xtreme Suite ActiveX Controls'.

I realize this will probably be viewed as low priority. However, I've heard comments from other developers about the learning curve and difficulty in implementing CJ controls. Anything you can do to improve the help file will probably have more effect on your sales than you think.

I found atleast the constants info in the vb6 object browser XtremeSuiteControls.CommonDialogFileOpenConstants
You can probably find what you are looking for there as well.
