I'm wondering how to make a nice looking tooltip. Currently I'm only able to make the oldish yellow tooltip on a control using the CXTTipWindow class.
What I'm looking for is a tooltip like the on used in the Ribbon. Can this be done using XTToolkit?

Hi,
Check Samples\CommandBars\ToolTipContext sample.

But how does I create such a Tooltip on a Button or in a specific position on the screen, like with the CXTTipWindow.
I suggest that you make a CXTPTipWindow class with the same functionality, and with the styles as for the command bars?

Yes I can change the context and catch the OnToolHitTest for the Window. But what if I want to show a tooltip on a specific position, without moving the mouse over e.g. a control?

Well it again requires that the mouse is moved over the circle. I'm missing a way to display a ToolTip at a given position on the screen.
Like the CXTTipWindow's ShowTipWindow method.

I would be interested in that too. Showing a tooltip at a given location _without_ explicit mouse interaction or OnToolHitTest. It can be done via the CXTTipWindow, but that one has not been markup-enabled yet apparently.

I use CPPToolTip class at CodeProject.com. It is very flexible. |

Can you tell us which XTP class I must use to get this functionality? Something that supports Office 2007 type tips etc. Thanks. |
