Which theme did you use? The explorer theme isn't exactly the best theme to use. 
 
I have posted issues about visual themes before, maybe this is related to your problem(s)... I haven't got the time to check if these issues have been solved with V12.0, but I will soon.
Product: Xtreme SuitePro (ActiveX) version 15.0.2
Platform: Windows XP (32bit) - SP 2
Language: Visual Basic 6.0

Zero replies is not an option....
