Hi there,

I have some trouble using CommandBars with ribbon style. (BTW. the sample looks great !)

1) When I use it in my app the first time the frame window appears the frame itself doesnt get drawn correctly. What do I have to call for it ?
(I use Vista 64 Bit Ultimate and VS 2008)

2) I tried to get the "system button popup" with my own menu structure in it. But I can't get it to work like the "original" one. I don't want to have menu items like save, save as, send mail, etc. But I would like to have open, print (with the complete second window shown right), close and the recent file menu. Couldn't get it to work. I even wasn't able to put in the buttons for options and exit. Both only appear as menu items. Please remember, I have to use german resources ... ;)

Anybody out there who can help me out ?

Cheers,
Chris

Hi,
1. Can you reproduce it with new sample ? or make your app smaller and send us to test?
2. See IDR_MAINFRAME menu in our sample. Modify it to make own.

Hi Oleg,

your ribbon sample application runs smoothly. That's why I am a little confused about what is missing in my app. Unfortunately, it is a completed one which I switch to ribbon GUI in my next version at the moment. I keep tracking the prob ...

Concerning the menu prob of the system button I copied the file menu tree as an own submenu into the ribbon sample ... everything is fine.
But after deleting some of the items, the appearance changed. Try to delete SAVE, SAVE AS, SEND (think this is enough) and you can reproduce the problem. Now, the PRINT command is not displayed as split button. Instead it is a usual menu item.
But the biggest problem I had was to get it to work with german resources. I copied all items from the sample menu into my app .rc file. But even having all file menu items in it, it did not display as it should. All items were shown as menu items, including options and exit. PRINT item was a usual menu item.

Any hints ? (Maybe V12 ?) I'm using V11.2.2 CommandBars ...

Greetings,
Chris
