I build the application by linking to MFC statically and the icon (||) over the separator between main view and command bar disappears.

Hi,
Yes, for Static version you need include our resources to your application (I wish there is automatic method - its our FAQ #1)
#include "XTToolkitPro.rc"

I put #include "XTToolkitPro.rc" in mainframe.cpp and get the following error:
error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before 'constant' on line: LANGUAGE LANG_NEUTRAL, SUBLANG_NEUTRAL in file resource-neutral.rc |

Oleg, isn't it possible to somehow check the instance handle in run-time and generate a warning message using TRACE?
TRACE("WARNING: Make sure to include XTToolkitPro.rc in your .rc2 file\n");
